Weather experts have indicated that a powerful storm will bring strong, persistent wind gusts and rain to the area this afternoon and into the evening. Scattered power outages are expected along with the strongest wind gusts (up to 65+ mph) moving through the area tonight.
Reports recommend individuals remain indoors and do not travel during this storm.
Given the potential dangers from this storm, all afterschool activities for Red Jacket are canceled today, January 9. This includes all athletic contests and practices.
Students are expected to go home at dismissal time today. Please reach out to your child's main office if you have any questions.
