COVID-19 Testing Consent Form

For anyone who has not completed this form for your child, please do if you want your child to receive free COVID-19 testing or to opt your child out of testing (this includes screening and/or diagnostic testing so please fill out the form even if your child was vaccinated). Please complete a form for every child you have attending Red Jacket Schools. If your child is enrolled in an out-of-district special education program, a consent form through your child's program will be provided to you and you should not complete this consent form. Please complete the form by Friday, Sept. 17th.

COVID-19 Testing & Exposure Flowcharts

Good Morning Red Jacket Families:

It's been a great start to the new school year! It is so wonderful to see all our students in school and see their families enjoying their sporting events!

Although the year has started out very smoothly, we will likely be faced with instances where you may have questions about what the process is for return to school if your child is exposed to COVID-19 or symptomatic. The flowchart link will help you understand the process and navigate the various circumstances we may be faced with this year. However, we are here to help you, so please feel free to reach out to our school nurses, principals or me if you have any questions or need assistance.

The flowcharts include:
Fully Vaccinated with COVID-19 Exposure Flowchart

Symptomatic Individual - No Known Exposure Flowchart

Unvaccinated with COVID-19 Exposure Flowchart

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

With Red Jacket PRIDE & Gratitude,
Charlene Dehn
Superintendent of Schools

School & Community Library Q & A

Dear Red Jacket Community:

There seems to be some confusion regarding the School and Community Library that we would like to clear up for you.

Update Regarding Masks in School

Good Afternoon Red Jacket Families and Staff:

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend weather.

Friday afternoon we received a copy of the letter from the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) to the CDC saying that starting on Monday, June 7th, NY State intends to issue guidance strongly encouraging mask wearing for students and staff who are indoors and who are not vaccinated, but not requiring it. According to the NYSDOH, students and staff who are vaccinated do not have to wear masks. This letter, however, is an open letter from New York State exploring the issue and sharing the State's intent. It is not actually guidance. Additionally, Governor Cuomo's office has not issued any updated guidance or executive orders at this time.
