Distraction-Free Learning
Starting with the 2025-26 school year, students may not use personal internet-enabled devices (like smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and similar devices) at any time during the school day, including lunch, recess, and study halls.
This change follows a new New York State law aimed at reducing distractions and supporting student focus, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
To help families navigate this transition, we’ve included a resource with information about the impact of devices in schools, tools for monitoring use at home, and an FAQ below to address common questions.
We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations and creating a focused, supportive environment for all students.
For additional questions, please contact your school’s main office.
