Indoor Track Athletes Set Program Records

Indoor Track Athletes Set Program Records

The Red Jacket Indoor Track program has seen two record-setting performances this season, highlighted by senior Josh Lepel and junior Danny McWilliams.

Josh Lepel has been a member of the Indoor Track program since his eighth-grade year and has continued to develop into a key contributor. This season, Lepel broke the school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.32 seconds. The previous record was set in 2011 by Matt Woodard and had stood for more than a decade.

Junior Danny McWilliams has also made his mark on the program. McWilliams became the first Red Jacket boys’ athlete to compete in the pole vault, setting the initial school record in 2024. He has continued to improve, raising the school record this season to 9 feet, 3 inches.

Both athletes have shown consistent growth and dedication throughout the indoor season and are looking forward to competitive league and sectional championships as the season comes to a close.
