Food Service

The Manchester-Shortsville Central School District is proud to offer a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to families. This is thanks to the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). Students are required to take a fruit or vegetable, a protein, and grain component for lunch. They must select at least three (3) food components as part of their lunch. At breakfast, students must take a fruit or vegetable (Red Jacket offers a fruit choice), a grain, and milk. Students can still purchase additional items.

For those who do not have a MySchoolBucks account, you can set up a prepaid account with the school district directly. Advance payments can be made via cash or check, which should be made payable to the Red Jacket CSD Lunch Fund. Please write your child’s full name on the check.

My School Bucks

Red Jacket Food Service Department provides parents a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account at any time. This service also provides parents the ability to view your child’s account balance & receive low balance alerts…. all for FREE through a website called myschoolbucks.com. Funds can be added weekly, monthly, or when the balance runs low, (Simply choose the “Setup a Payment Schedule” option during the checkout).

Things to know:

  • If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
  • Payments may be made through a major credit, debit card or with an electronic check.
  • In order to use the online prepayment service, a convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed to cover the bank fees. Parents and guardians will pay $3.25 at checkout for all cafeteria credit/debit card prepayments. The program fee for electronic check payments will increase to $2.75 per meal payment.

By having money in each child’s account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster and your child has more time to eat and be with friends. Also, parents will have the ability to print out a copy of their child’s eating history report. This history report will show you all dates and times that your child has purchased an item within the past thirty days.

Your participation in this service is voluntary and between you and myschoolbucks. Red Jacket School District does not receive any financial benefit from your participation in this service and will not profit from the use of this site.

Allergies-Meal Modification Process

Please notify your school nurse if your child has any food allergies.

All meal modifications must have a written note, submitted by a State licensed healthcare professional to the school nurse. The note must include the name of the allergen (food) and how it affects the student if exposed.

All allergy information will then be provided to Manchester-Shortsville CSD Food Services staff from the school nurse.
