The Ontario County Resource Guide is intended to connect the community, medical providers, and service agencies with the resources available to residents of Ontario County. This list is updated yearly and is inclusive to the best of our knowledge. You will find health information on many of the pages within this resource guide. The information provided is general health information. Any specific health question should be directed to your health care provider.

211/LIFE LINE is here for everyone, every day, anytime. Community members get connected with experienced tele-counselors by simply dialing 211 for free and confidential assistance connecting to vital services within the community. When you need help locating basic resources (like food, clothing, shelter) or need crisis stabilization for yourself or someone you know, we’re here to listen and here to help.

Ontario County Department of Social Services

In partnership with the community, we seek to improve the quality of life by providing services that support and protect families and individuals, and to encourage self-sufficiency and personal responsibility with compassion and respect.
Services: eligibility programs (temporary assistance, SNAP, HEAP, Medicaid), workforce development, emergency food and shelter, as well as child support enforcement and collection.
Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes

Since 1982 Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes has served Ontario, Seneca and Cayuga counties by providing quality human service programs and by advocating for social justice. We work with faith communities, government, elected officials, business leaders, and other human service organizations to meet human needs and effect public policy that addresses the needs of all people. Together we make our community stronger, safer, and more inclusive.
Services: SSI, emergency assistance, family case management, community lunch program (Geneva), and supervised visitation.
Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Services: emergency financial assistance, food and nutrition programs, emergency shelter, and caseworker services.
Geneva Center of Concern

Since its beginning in 1972, the Geneva Center of Concern has provided assistance to individuals, households, and families in and around the city of Geneva, New York who have fallen upon hard times with no place else to turn. The Center acts as a safety net, a sympathetic ear, and provides a helping hand, to address critical human needs, shore up the spirits, bolster the hopes, and affirm dignity and a sense of worth for the people it serves. Food, clothing, social service referrals, and many other resources are provided to support people through difficult times and help them to improve their lives.

Child and Family Resources

Child and Family Resources was established in 1975 with the opening of a parent cooperative preschool. This unique non-profit child/family centered agency now comprises five sites to directly serve communities in Ontario, Seneca and Yates Counties. Child and Family Resources continues to modify and expand its services to meet the ever-changing needs of children and families.
Services: child care resources and referral services, parent education and support, and child care provider services.
Family Hope Center

Family Hope Center offers hope to families by providing pregnancy and parenting education, support services for relationships, and baby supplies. We emphasize the value of each family member with compassion and grace.
