What the PTSA is All About!

Santa's Secret Shop: This is a 5-day event held in December. Students have the opportunity to purchase and wrap gifts for their family members. This program promotes the idea of giving rather than receiving.

Family Matters: This free annual event for our elementary students and their families is usually held the Saturday before Valentine's Day. This highly anticipated event is attended by over 400 people every year and encourages families to spend time together doing creative activities.

Roller Skating: Roller skating parties are offered to grades K-5. These are held five times per year in the old High School gym. The cost is $3.00 per student and we have increased the skating time for each session by 15 minutes. Grade K-2 skate time is 4:00-5:30pm and grades 3-5 skate time is 5:45-7:15. This activity helps students to understand that physical fitness can be fun!

Jump Rope for Heart: Sponsored by the American Heart Association, this event helps educate people about heart health and also raises money for the Association. Students get pledges from friends and family, and then participate in different physical activity stations around the gym. PTSA provides healthy snacks to all participants and volunteers for parent sign-out at the end of the evening.

PARP: Parents As Reading Partners - In this annual reading program, students in each grade level (K-5) compete in a contest to see who can get the most reading time with a family member. This year's theme is "Going Green."

Red Ribbon Day: This event is hosted by high school students for one day in October. Students in grades K-3 learn about Halloween safety, while students in grades 4-5 learn about the danger of drugs.
